We’re finally cool enough to have made it to Shoreditch! Well, it’s more like when Eastenders comes to Southend for a holiday episode, that’s us, but the other way round. Anyway, we’re very excited to be back in London. We used to have a residency with the Union Chapel venue through the Arctic Circle/Daylight Music gang which we thoroughly enjoyed. Now the lovely like-minded folk at brilliant venue and recording studios the Strong Room, East London, have given us some regular ‘lazy Sunday afternoon’ slots to fill throughout the year for you.
They will all be FREE events open to the public, they will all be from 4pm – 7pm, so plenty of time to get home in time for the last half hour of Countryfile (we know you love John Craven). We will present our usual blend of live music, comedy and spoken word, introducing artists from both Essex and London/UK. We’ll be giving away FREE 2nd-hand books or you can bring your unwanted 2nd-hand book to swap or swook with one of ours, pass the literature love on. There’ll be FREE stickers and FREE sweets sometimes too. We like to give our audiences treats y’see, they’ve been good to us.
Our first SUNDOWN @ STRONG ROOM will be on Sunday, 12th April, doors at 4pm with live music from the sublime STUART O’CONNOR, comedy from the very funny SOFIE HAGEN, with spoken word from NIALL O’SULLIVAN, OLMO LAZARUS (our very own), RAY MORGAN & JO OVERFIELD. Whilst you kick back and enjoy all this amazing talent for FREE, you can enjoy the quality beer and food served at the Strong Room Bar & Kitchen. Expect more [email protected] lazy Sunday’s in July & September, dates to be confirmed.
Do not miss this great FREE gig! (Have I said FREE enough in capitals?)
